Freda Wrench

As a visual artist my subject matter is quite diverse, with inspiration coming from nature and humanity.  My interest in figurative work began at an early age and evolved into fashion drawing, where at George Brown College I earned an Honours Degree in Fashion Design. After working in this field for a few years I was drawn into the fine art world, which after about 40 years is still my passion. My artistic education was achieved through workshops and evening classes and many hours of drawing and painting. I have participated in many group shows and some solo exhibitions throughout Ontario and Quebec. For the last 10 years I had been on the Headwaters Art Gallery Committee in Alton which gave me the opportunity to jury artwork which has taught me to look at my own work with a more critical eye and to constantly strive for excellence.
