Shaaron started drawing and painting as a child. Through the years she always tried to be involved in art while working and raising a family. While working for the
Province of Ontario she began painting again.
She has a philosophy about her painting that carries over into her personal life. That is to strive to make every painting one that she can say “ok I am happy with this painting and maybe it will bring some enrichment into someone else’s life”.
Over the years Shaaron has studied with many Canadian artists in both watercolour and acrylics. She credits them with pushing her forward in her art and discovering new techniques and mediums. “Art is not a constant”, she says. “You have to keep moving forward and not be deterred from getting up and painting every day, some days work and some don’t, but the ideas keep flowing”.
Her garden, day trips and trips to the east coast of Canada and abroad serve as unlimited palettes for her imagination. She prefers landscapes and abstracts. Abstracts provide an outlet for everything she laughs, and hopes when people look at her paintings it makes them stop and reflect whether they like them or not.
“I’m a moody painter and my paintings mirror that”, but I think that is true of most people who paint or draw she muses.
Two painters who inspire her are Tom Thomson and Monet. “I’m a colourist at heart so colour bombards me every day”.
Another of her favourite painters is Georgia O’Keefe who said “Whether you succeed or not is irrelevant, there is no such thing. Making your unkown known is the important thing”.
Please enjoy her art and contact her if you are interested in her paintings or have comments!
